Exclusive Star Wars Chaykin Mini Comic Poster Sculpture is a 6 1/4-inch tall x 4-inch wide work of art with a display stand so you can display it anywhere! Modeled after the first-ever Star Wars Comic-Con exclusive poster from 1976, this limited edition item is appropriately limited to only 1,976 pieces worldwide.
In 1976, Lucasfilm went to San Diego's Comic-Con International to promote a little movie called Star Wars. Nobody ever heard of it, fans had no idea what a lightsaber would be, and star Mark Hamill was on hand to promote the then-mysterious unknown space movie due out a year later. In addition to fans getting a first glimpse at the project, they also were able to buy one of the first-ever pieces of Star Wars merchandise. A limited edition poster by comic book artist Howard Chaykin, who went on to adapt the film for Marvel Comics, sold for just $1. Featuring Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and of course Luke Skywalker, this scene captures the action and intensity of a movie that, at the time, the world had never seen.
